Overview of my 8 shot journey
I felt that my 8 shot journey went well, although when I went though the whole story I realized that I had made a mistake in there with one of the shots.
That one mistake that I had made was breaking the 180° rule, where switching from one shot to another the side of the line of action changed from the side I was recording the rest of the journey to the other side, which I did not realize I had done that until I watched all the clips together, which was the following day, therefore I could not record that scene again. But a part from that shot I quite like the journey.
My 8 shot journey involved me to plan out a storyboard, log every shot and to direct every shot that I wanted, it also involved editing the final shot, on final cut pro.
Listening to all three if my radio jingle, I think the best radio jingle is the show promo, and the worst I would say is the news one.
Show Promo Jingle
I think that the show promo is the best because it includes variety of music, it also shows what type of celebs takeover the station for the time and what kind of music it will play when the celebs not there. The only thing that I would improve in it is the loudness of my voice and to include “Only on SNC Live” at the end. There was a long clip of “Rihanna – Don’t Stop the Music” at the end which probably could have been shortened, but I wanted to make sure that I had “Please don’t stop the music” at the end to add a dramatic effect at the end of it. I could have not included so many artists in it as well to make the clip shorter because it was just under the minute mark.
News Jingle
The reason I didn’t think my news one was good is because it didn’t have authority in it and the crash sound at the end I think could have blended in a bit more with the background music but apart from that I thought that it was okay. If I had to do that again I would probably do it a bit differently but I would still keep the background music because I think that it is serious yet at the same time it was fun. I could also make the news a bit longer then what it was because I thought that it was a bit short for a news jingle.

Student Ident Jingle
My Station Ident, I would say, is a good Ident this is because it there isn’t a boring bit in it and it tells you exactly what the station is. If I had to do that again I think that I would add more of an effect in people’s voices, just to give it more of a “wow” factor. My Student Ident I thought was a good time and it was short and to the point for a Student Ident, I have also heard that done on a radio station before, therefore it’s where I got the idea from, but there is one thing that I would also include in it and that is getting a group of people saying “SNC Live” at the same time.
The only thing that I have to say about all three of the jingles is that they all had copy right music on them, that is one thing that I would probably considered as a factor in future projects. Also I have to comment that the Mac that I was on did lose my first Show Promo jingle so therefore I had to so my show promo the following day again. Also the other thing that I would have improved is to have a room to record in because a lot of the time I had to shout to get other people quite to do my recording straight onto the Mac.

Why are Radio Jingles so Important?
Radio Jingles are so important because it makes the radio more entertaining and memorable for the listeners. If we listened to the radio without any jingles then the listeners would soon lose concentration and become bored very quick.
What is a radio jingle?
A radio jingle can count as all types of advertising. It advertises products, show promos, competitions / events, station idents and news; they are generally fun and short, the longest that a normal radio jingle lasts is, maximum, 2mins, but they can be a short as 10secs. They make the radio station sound professional and exciting for the listeners.
